Ability to execute custom card code on change event of status

Currently if we have to update the value of a data field based on the change of status , we cannot do that. Can we have a feature that when we do customization we can call those functions or parameters and customize the code so that based on change of status we can update the data field.

One of the business requirements was to capture the username in the custom data field who have completed the very last action, currently we are unable to record these based on the complete/resolved events
